Introduction
Students will  enforce their English language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Students will know how to use and practice critical thinking and will be able to develop their own opinions by writing an evaluation report at the end of the project.
A Self Introduction Paragraph
Hello, my name is Amina Abo-zeid.I am a Lebanese student in the faculty of science in Kuwait university. I like writing, traveling , and cooking. And I hope that I will be a useful person in the society in the future..

Activity # 1- Defining
It learns the student how to outline  and write  a formal and an extended definition.
Ex. A  *A FORMAL DEFINITION
* AN EXTENDED DEFINITION:
EX.B
Energy is the ability to do work.
A vertebrate is an animal that has a back bone.
Distillation is a process by which components in chemical mixtures are separated according to their different boiling points.
 Good information
Do you know that the biggest and the most important deserts in the world are the Arabian desert, the Atacama, the Australian, the Iranian, the Kalahari, the Namib, the North American, the Patagonian, the Saharan, the Takta Makan-gobi, the Thar, and the Turkestan desert.
Continuo
Do you want to know more about some of these deserts? Let us define some of them.
The Arabian desert is a hot desert. It is located in the Arabian Peninsula. Camels, foxes, gazelles, and cobras are examples of animals that live in this desert.
The Iranian desert is a hot and a cold desert. It found in Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. There are several kinds of animals-as monitor lizards and Oryxes- live there.
Continuo
The Turkestan desert is a cold desert . It is located in the Middle East. It contains different kinds of animals; Such as, Asian tortoises, gazelles, and gerbil.
Activity#2.Classifying
In this practice we will learn how to outline  a number of information in order to make it easier for researchers to gain what they want in a simple way.
We are going to use one way of outlining , which is “a tree diagram”, to show our information.
An Outlining of Muslim Scientists
A Classification of Muslim Scientists
Muslim scientists are persons who established the bases of the nations’ science. They may be classified into three groups on the basis of their majors.Scientists of the medical field is the first type .Ibn Sina is a good example of it.He wrote the “Al Qanoun” book and noted the close relationship between emotions and the physical conditions.
Continuo
The other kind is alchemists,as, Jaber Bin Haiyan. He wrote “Al-Kimya” book and discovered the mineral and other acids. Finally, the scientists of physics is the last type of them;such as,Ibn Al-Haitham.He wrote “Mizan Al Hikmah”book and discovered the laws of refraction.
Activity# 3.Experimenting
This practice teaches how to write a process paragraph.
** For example we will learn how to cook paella.  Do you know how? Let us discover it.
 How to Cook Paella?
Paella is a traditional dish of Valencia and Spain. The process of making it is a long one involving several steps. First of all, a paella is placed on the fire then 20tablespoons and some salt are added.
Continuo
Next, 500g of chicken and of rabbit’s meat – that are cut in pieces- are added and distributed with a spoon. After that, 5oog of green beans are added and removed well with the meat. Also, two large red bell peppers- which are cut lengthwise in one cm Strips- are added and removed when they have been cooked a little. Next, one cup of white beans and 20 tablespoons of tomatoes( in very small pieces) are added ,and every thing is mixed well.
Continuo
Then, 12-14 cups of water are added immediately. After it starts boiling, six-eight threads of saffron and four- five cups of rice are added. The rice can be manipulated during the first five minutes with the spoon, while the rice ( which is cooked between 20-30 minutes) on the fire, the red bell peppers and the artichokes are arranged in a decorative style, then if the rice is seemed to be a little hard, it is covered with a newspaper for about 10 minutes. Finally, our paella is ready to be eaten.
Activity#4. Reporting
*   we use reporting style to record important information which later will be our history, but you should know that not every sentence can be considered as a reporting statement. A good report will answer the questions: who, what, when, where, why, and who.
The Science of Genetics
A.Vocabulary Exercise :.
Most of us take it for granted that we have inherited certain characteristics .
We inherit some traits and don’t inherit others.
Genetics is the branch of science that seeks to determine the answers of our questions about the inheritance.
Gregor Mendel was an amateur  botanist.
In Mendel’s experiment, he observed that when the flowers began to bloom all the first generation were red.
Activity# 5. Describing
Describing is one of the most important styles of writing.
A description serves to introduce a scientist’s view of the world. It may describe results of an experiment ,tell the characteristics of an object ,and explain the nature of something.
To understand what do we mean see the following examples.

 An African Wild Cat
An African Wild Cat is a small, fierce cat. It has powerful jaws and long, pointed canine teeth, sharp retractable claws, big ears, a long tail, that is half as long as the body, and a striped coat that ranges from yellowish gray to light tan, with a white throat underbelly. Its eyes have round pupils. It’s 20 to 30 inches(50-75 cm) long and its weight is from 16 to 25 pounds (4.5-11 kg).
Continuo
The African Wild Cat is generally nocturnal(most active at night)in warm weather but is diurnal (active during the day) during very cold weather. It is an excellent climber, has a life-span of 12 to 15 years and it’s about 50 percent longer than domesticated (tame)cats. Finally, African Wild Cats are carnivores(meat-eaters) and these which are fast eat small to medium sized mammals, birds, reptiles, frogs, invertebrates, and eggs.
Frogs
Frogs are amphibians, animals that spend part of their lives under water and the reminder on land. They have long, powerful jumping legs ,a very short backbone and most frogs have teeth except toads.Frogs live near water,as all amphibians,so that , they can start their life cycle by laying their eggs in the water. When they, the eggs in the water, hatched into tadpoles, they breath with gills and swim using a tail.
Continuo
As they mature, they lose their tail, and they develop lungs for breathing air. In harsh climates, frogs bury themselves in sand and mud and hibernate ( sleep very deeply)through the cold winter. Frogs eat insects, catching them with their long, sticky tongue and they also eat small fish and worms. They belong to the kingdom of Animalia( animals),class Amphibia, order: Anura(frogs and toads). Finally, the first true frogs evolved during the early Jurassic period, about 20 million years ago ( during the time of dinosaurs).
The Conclusion
By completing the online portfolio, I learned several things that are useful for me now and for the future.
I learned more about the computer skills; Such as using the power point programe.
My typing became faster than before.
By using the internet in researching, I gained the information in a simple and interesting way that encouraged  me to complete this project.
Finally,I hope that you have enjoyed  your self with this portfolio .
                                                                     Good bye….
