What is An Idiom?
An idiom is a word or a phrase that cannot be taken in the literal meaning of the words. We may know the meaning of each word, but the actual meaning is different. For example, a piece of cake means “simple or easy”, and not the literal meaning of each word. This idiom is used in a situation to describe a simple or easy task. The following is an example:
“If you revise systematically, passing this course will be a piece of cake”.
