North Star - Grammar Rule: "Used to"

• Meaning:

"used to" means a habit that happend for a certain period of time in the
past and doesn't exist or stopped later.

• Form:

{ Used to + base form of a verb }

• Use:
  • Example:

    I used to skateboard at Al-Shaáb Park. (This means, I don't skateboard anymore, at present).

  • In Questions:

    Did you use to skateboard?

Activity:

• A:

1. Go to www.starswelove.com
2. Check out the images of American popular stars, including actors and singers, when they were children.
3. Click on the star you love. (You can choose more than one if you want).
4. Save his/her image on the hard drive of your pc or on a floppy disk. You can do this by right clicking the picture with your mouse, and then choose [Save Picture As]..from the box that pops up.

• B:

1. Go to Buzznet.com
2. Sign in your photoblog, using your username and password.
3. Upload the image of the actor or singer you love that you have already saved on your hard drive or floppy disk.
4. Write a sentence to comment under each picture, using "used to" to describe your favorite actor before and now.
5. Save your post and then click on sign out.

Note: If you know a similar website publishing images of Kuwaiti or Arabic stars, you can use it. You can also use your own picture when you were a child, if you wish.
