Synchronous and Asynchronous CMC Tools

• Main Questions to Students:
  1. Do you usually chat online? With whom?

  3. How many types of chats are there?

• We are going to use these tools for our text-voice chat:
  • An Asynchronous CMC Tool: (161 Science Students Yahoo Group).
• Synchronous CMC Tools:

1. Yahoo Messenger,(YM).

   To chat using (YM), you need to Download Yahoo Messenger, and then follow the instructions.

   It is also useful to learn about "Text-Chat Symblos and Abbreviation", used for synchronous communication.

2. Groupboard.

To chat and draw using "161 Groupboard", you need the password. (email me to get the password)

3. Tapped In, (TI).

   To chat using Tapped In, you have to use the URL: http://www.tappedin.org/ , and then log in as a guest. Then you need to go to my Tapped In Office # 1217, 12th Floor, Eastern Wing".
