My Report on an On-line Session, by Jennifer Hoffman
(The voice, recorded, file, doesn't work. I will try to look into the problem, later).
First, Jennifer's
held a very organized online session. When I first joined, she immediately
noticed and welcomed me, calling my name out and asked me to test the
sound quality directing me, in a very simple and clear manner, to where
I should do this.I introduced myself and asked if I was received well. Then,
she welcomed me again expressing excitement on that this was the first
time someone from Kuwait joined one of her sessions. By this, she made
me feel comfortable, close to her and the audience, and excited, too. Second, I observed her using some interesting features available at this vClass of Elluminate, including including poll and higlighting words and sentences on a white board, participants window, and text-chat area. These features well served the purpose of her presentation. I didn't know about these features which are the same as those available at the vClassroom of Compu.Ed and CentraOne of EDS. Therefore, such features are not exclusive, and are available at the three new tools I / we learned about lately, the last of which was Elluminate vClassroom, called Meeting Room at Learning Times, which was introduced to us by Michael Coghlan on July 7th, 2003. However, the difference between these vclassrooms is in their level of smoothness, as Susanne Nyrope, indicated in her comment last Sunday, when she cpmpared the look and feel of the vClassrooms of Compu.ED with that of the of Elluminate. Moreover, Jennifer talked in her presentation about 3 levels of collaboration, including cooperation, coordination, and collaboration. When she was describing these techniques, I found that her description conformed with the kind of collaboration occuring at WiA communities. At this point, I felt the urge to request the microphone and talked about webheads just to support or emphasize Jennifer's points on collaboration. I said, that I could be representing an exmaple of the kind of collaboration, Jennifer highlighted! Adding that , I was participating in Jennifer's online session, trying to learn more about a vClassroom and how could it be used effectivlely in e-learning. I explained that after this session is over I will post a report on this session to WiA Ygroup to share the new knowledge I gained from her presentation.I also indicated that being able to attend her session, is due to shared information with WiA, which lead me to reach her and join her session.I was a live example to all participants of a spontaneous and invariable collaboration that Jennifer mentioned. Furthermore, Jennifer
provided examples, illusterating types of group feedback, indicating
that on the cooperation Finally, these
are the information I wanted to share with you all, hope they are uesful.
